Twenty-eight organizations from throughout the state were presented Arkansas Governor's Quality Awards by Governor Mike Beebe during the 20th Annual Awards Celebration September 15, 2014 at the Marriott Hotel Ballroom in Little Rock. Receiving the top honor, the Governor's Award for Performance Excellence, was Baldor Electric Company of Fort Smith, Conway Regional Health System and J.V. Manufacturing, Inc. of Springdale. Special recognition was given to recipients of the Governor's Award for Performance Excellence during the past 20 years. Over 400 business and civic leaders from throughout Arkansas attended the celebration.

It's really a three step process:  1. Write an application; 2. Get feedback; 3. Receive recogntion.

"All our efforts in the process - training, preparing the submission, and the on-site visit by the Arkansas examiners team, made for a great experience and learning opportunity for us.  However, the feedback report, by itself, was absolutely worth the challenge of submitting for the award.  The report was very well prepared and quickly identified our strengths and opportunities in best aligning to the Baldrige Criteria." - Myla Petree, Director of Stategic Management, Baldor Electric, Fort Smith, 2014 Governor's Award for Performance Excellence Recipient
